Learn how to use scoping to fetch specific data fields and data models from customers, HRIS, or ATS systems with Bindbee. This guide covers how to select and deselect data models and fields, create a new connector, and verify the data received.
Scoping and Creating a New Connector
Step 1: Navigate to the scoping section. All data models and fields within each data model are pre-selected, allowing for model-level and field-level scoping.
Step 2: Create a new connector.
Step 3: Enter the customer's organization name. For this guide, Netflix serves as an example.
Step 4: Select a category. For this instance, choose HRIS.
Step 5: Assign a unique identifier to the connector.
Step 6: Click on Next and select BambooHR for reference purposes.
Step 7: Create a magic link. This link, sent to customers, contains the pre-built scoping configurations.
Step 8: The customer opens the link and sees the requested data fields.
Step 9: The customer clicks on allow and continue, enters their credentials, and clicks on next.
Step 10: The customer enters their API key and clicks on Connect.
Verify if the connection is established.
Step 1: Navigate to the connectors section and observe the newly created Netflix connector for BambooHR.
Step 2: Click on the connector to see the incoming data and the ongoing data sync.
Testing the Connector
Step 1: Navigate to the connector tester to verify the type of data received.
Step 2: Enter the authorization token and the connector ID for the newly created connector.
Step 3: Send the request and observe the employee details received.
Scoping the Integration
Step 1: Navigate back to the scoping section and deselect certain models and fields that are not required.
Step 2: Save the changes.
Step 3: Create a new connector, this time for Amazon, with the updated scoping configurations.
Step 4: The customer opens the link, sees the requested data fields, and enters their details.
Step 5: The customer enters their API key and clicks on Connect.
Step 6: Verify the connection is established.
Step 7: Navigate to the connectors section and observe the newly created Amazon connector.
Step 8: Click on the connector to see the incoming data.
Step 9: Copy the connector token and go back to the connector tester to verify the type of data received.
This concludes the guide on using scoping to fetch specific data fields and data models from customers, HRIs, or ATS systems with Bindbee.
