This guide outlines the process of creating a connector with Paychex using the provided Magic Link.
Prerequisites: You will need Admin access to Paychex to proceed
Step 1: Open the MagicLink. This action opens a linking page. Click on Allow and Continue to proceed
Step 2: The next step requires Paychex OAuth client credentials. To obtain these, create a new OAuth app from the Paychex admin dashboard.
Step 3: Navigate to the Paychex dashboard and select Company Setting in the left navigation pane.
Step 4: Open the Integrated Apps.
Step 5: Click on Create app. Alternatively, use existing client credentials if already created.
Note : Avoid regenerating the client secret in an ALREADY EXISTING OAUTH APP.
Step 6: Provide the appropriate token name and description.
Step 7: Assign permissions :
Company and worker APIs : Read and write (GET, POST, PATCH, DELETE)
Payroll and Check APIs : Read and write (GET, POST, PATCH, DELETE)
Step 8: This action generates client credentials. Remember to save these credentials for future use.
Step 10: Copy these client credentials and paste them in the provided prompt.
Step 11: Click on Connect. The connection establishes successfully.
